Installing Microsoft Office 2019 on macOS

Preparatory Tasks

1. Download the following installers to your downloads folder
• Microsoft Office for macOS | Office 365 & 2019 Installer
• Microsoft Office VL Serialiser | macOS Office 2019 Activator

Installation

1. Run "Microsoft_Office_XX.XX.XXXXXXXX_Installer.pkg" from your downloads folder
2. Click the "Continue" twice, then "Agree"
3. Click "Customise" and uncheck any applications you would not like installed
4. Click "Install" and enter your password when prompted
5. Wait for the installation to complete, then click "Close"

Activation

1. Run "Microsoft_Office_2019_VL_Serializer.pkg" from your downloads folder
2. Click "Continue", then "Install"
3. Enter your password when prompted
4. Wait for the installation to complete, then click "Close"
5. Open an Office application, click "Skip sign-in", then "Start Using [application name]"

Configuration

1. Open any Office application > click the application name in the Menu Bar > click "Preferences"
2. Spelling & Grammar > click "Grammar" and change to "Grammar & Refinements"
3. Check "Check grammar with spelling" and "Show readability statistics"
4. Click "Grammar" and change to "Grammar & Refinements"
5. Click the back arrow to return
6. Privacy > uncheck "Turn on optional connected experiences"
7. Exit
