Installing the Microsoft Store & Xbox App on LTSC
Microsoft Store Installation
- Start Menu > Windows PowerShell > right-click "Windows PowerShell" > More > Run as administrator
- Type
wsreset -i
and press the enter key
- Exit and wait 30-60 seconds for the Microsoft Store to appear on the Start Menu
- Start Menu > click "Microsoft Store"
- Click the profile icon to the right of the Search box, then click "App settings"
- Uncheck "Video autoplay"
- Click "Library" in the bottom left
- "Update" "Store Experience Host" and "Microsoft Store"
- Wait for the Microsoft Store to close and reopen it
- If the options to update "Store Experience Host" and "Microsoft Store" still show in "Library", ignore and move on
Xbox App & Dependencies Installation
- Type "Xbox" into the Search box and press the enter key
- Click "Xbox" then click "Get"
- Wait 30-60 seconds for the "Xbox" app to appear on the Start Menu
- Start Menu > click "Xbox"
- Click "I'LL LOOK AROUND FIRST"
- Sign in > click "Settings"
- General > install "Xbox Identity Provider" and "Xbox Live in-game experience"
- Uncheck "Keep the app running in the background when I close it" and "Ask me for feedback about the app on this device"
- Uncheck "Show themes on profiles" and "Show video preview on hover"
- Close the settings window
Enabling Services & Sign-in
- Hit "Win + S" on your keyboard to open Search
- Type "Services" and click "Services"
- Scroll to the bottom of the list
- Right-click "Xbox Live Auth Manager" > click "Properties"
- Change "Disabled" to "Automatic", then click "OK"
- Repeat for "Xbox Live Game Save" and "Xbox Live Networking Service"
- Right-click "Xbox Live Auth Manager" > click "Start"
- Repeat for "Xbox Live Game Save" and "Xbox Live Networking Service"
- Exit Services and return to the Xbox app
- Sign in > click "Sign in"
- Login to Xbox Live using your Microsoft credentials
