Installing the Microsoft Store & Xbox App on LTSC

Microsoft Store Installation

  1. Start Menu > Windows PowerShell > right-click "Windows PowerShell" > More > Run as administrator
  2. Type wsreset -i and press the enter key
  3. Exit and wait 30-60 seconds for the Microsoft Store to appear on the Start Menu
  4. Start Menu > click "Microsoft Store"
  5. Click the profile icon to the right of the Search box, then click "App settings"
  6. Uncheck "Video autoplay"
  7. Click "Library" in the bottom left
  8. "Update" "Store Experience Host" and "Microsoft Store"
  9. Wait for the Microsoft Store to close and reopen it
  10. If the options to update "Store Experience Host" and "Microsoft Store" still show in "Library", ignore and move on

Xbox App & Dependencies Installation

  1. Type "Xbox" into the Search box and press the enter key
  2. Click "Xbox" then click "Get"
  3. Wait 30-60 seconds for the "Xbox" app to appear on the Start Menu
  4. Start Menu > click "Xbox"
  5. Click "I'LL LOOK AROUND FIRST"
  6. Sign in > click "Settings"
  7. General > install "Xbox Identity Provider" and "Xbox Live in-game experience"
  8. Uncheck "Keep the app running in the background when I close it" and "Ask me for feedback about the app on this device"
  9. Uncheck "Show themes on profiles" and "Show video preview on hover"
  10. Close the settings window

Enabling Services & Sign-in

  1. Hit "Win + S" on your keyboard to open Search
  2. Type "Services" and click "Services"
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the list
  4. Right-click "Xbox Live Auth Manager" > click "Properties"
  5. Change "Disabled" to "Automatic", then click "OK"
  6. Repeat for "Xbox Live Game Save" and "Xbox Live Networking Service"
  7. Right-click "Xbox Live Auth Manager" > click "Start"
  8. Repeat for "Xbox Live Game Save" and "Xbox Live Networking Service"
  9. Exit Services and return to the Xbox app
  10. Sign in > click "Sign in"
  11. Login to Xbox Live using your Microsoft credentials
