Sideloading on iOS & iPadOS with Sideloadly (>16.7, 17.0)
Preparatory Tasks
Enabling Developer Mode
- On your iOS or iPadOS device, open Settings
- Privacy & Security > Developer Mode
- Toggle the switch "On" and follow the instructions to restart
Collecting Tools
- Download and install Sideloadly to a computer from the following link
- If you're using Windows, uninstall any installations of iTunes present on the target system, then download and install iTunes using the following link
- iTunes | Win32 iTunes Installer
- Download the .ipa file for the app you'd like to install to your computer
- Remove any installations of an app already present on the target device before attempting to install a sideloaded copy
Sideloading an App
Installation
- Connect your iOS or iPadOS device to your computer via USB and launch Sideloadly
- Click "IPA" and navigate to the .ipa file previously downloaded
- Type your Apple ID email address into the "Apple account:" field
- Click "Start"
- Enter your Apple ID password into the field when prompted
- Enter the verification code that appears on your iOS or iPadOS device into the field when prompted
- Disconnect the device once complete and exit
Trusting the Developer
- On your iOS or iPadOS device, open Settings
- General > VPN & Device Management
- Tap your Apple ID, then tap "Trust [Apple ID]"
- Tap "Trust" then exit

- Sideloaded apps will no longer open after 7 days as they will need re-signing
- This is due to the limitations of a free-tier Apple Developer ID
- Repeat steps 1, 2 and 4 of the installation process every 7 days to bypass this limitation
